Huron-Perth Dairy Cares Brings Farmers, Producers, and other Agricultural Partners together to support causes that are close to home.
Huron-Perth Dairy Cares was inspired by other communities across Ontario that all shared the same goal of giving back to the areas they are proud to call home. Mental health challenges, physical illness, and food insecurity are not distant issues - they affect families, friends, and neighbours within our community. Huron-Perth Dairy Cares is committed to raising funds to provide hope and support for loved ones facing these challenging circumstances.
We are hosting a formal event on Thursday, November 26, 2026, at 7:00pm to raise money for Mental Health in Huron Perth Hospitals, Ronald McDonald House Charities Canada, and the Huron-Perth Food Bank. There will be a live auction, live entertainment, and so much more!
Additionally, there are monthly draws leading up to the event where you can enter to win sweet prizes! Thank you for everyone's support, and we encourage you to take this opportunity to learn more about mental health challenges, the hardships endured by families caring for a sick child, and the large number of people in need with limited access to nutritious meals.

Every day, people walk through the hospital doors carrying invisible burdens, fear, trauma, grief, anxiety, isolation, and uncertainty about where to turn. Behind each phone call, each emerge
Mental health challenges impact every part of our community. Recently, the demand for support has increased more quickly than the system can handle. Every day, people walk through the hospital doors carrying invisible burdens, fear, trauma, grief, anxiety, isolation, and uncertainty about where to turn. Behind each phone call, each emergency visit, and each long wait for an appointment is a human story.
Emergency departments across Huron and Perth counties have become the frontline for mental health needs. In Perth County – Stratford General Hospital ED, there were 1,144 visits for mental health presenting complaints in 2024/25; this number is trending higher for 2025/26. In Huron County – Alexandra Marine & General Hospital ED, there were 925 visits for mental health support from October 2024 to October 2025. Many patients arrive scared, overwhelmed, or in the grips of panic, depression, or suicidal thoughts. These visits represent moments of tremendous vulnerability and great opportunity to provide support in a timely manner.
With your support, Huron and Perth hospitals can ensure their teams receive thorough training, making the system better equipped to respond to requests for help in Huron and Perth counties. This will help ensure that the right care in the right place at the right time is delivered, fostering feelings of hope and possibility that are always within reach.

Families can find themselves in specialty hospitals for long periods of time away from home in these situations. No one plans for the unexpected sickness or injury of their child, but unfortunately, it is the harsh reality for some. Families can find themselves in specialty hospitals for long periods of time away from home in these situations. Last year alone, 3,000 families travelled an average of 236 kilometres to Ronald McDonald House, where they lived for several days up to many months. During that time, they were provided a safe, loving place to stay; home-cooked meals every evening; and the opportunity to be present for their little loved ones.
Research shows that staying at RMHC Canada enhances families’ care journeys and children’s health outcomes. Your support will help kids heal faster and experience normalcy, joy and love along the way. You will also provide families with an average cost savings of $513 per day, protecting them from devastating financial hardship.
Currently, RMHC Canada is facing the difficult reality that they can only serve just 20-30% of the people who need their help. In 2024, their London House turned away 493 families - as many as 2,400 kids and caregivers - who sought the socioeconomic relief and belonging we nurture at RMHC Canada. Due to a lack of space, instead of staying together just 165 steps from their child’s hospital bed, families had to navigate an already impossible journey entirely on their own.
With your gift to the Huron-Perth Dairy Cares initiative, you will catalyze Ronald McDonald House’s ability to better care for more families. By expanding from 40 to 80 bedrooms, you will help bring us one pivotal step closer to doubling the number of families we serve each year. The Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre is more than a warehouse; it’s a lifeline for our neighbours. Every day, we work to collect and distribute food to 13 food banks and 45 community agencies across Huron and Perth Counties.

The Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre is more than a warehouse; it’s a lifeline for our neighbours. Every day, we work to collect and distribute food to 13 food banks and 45 community agencies across Huron and Perth Counties.
We partner with local farms, retailers, and community champions to make sure good, nutritious food reaches the people who need it most. From families facing hard times to individuals rebuilding their lives, our support helps bring comfort, dignity, and hope.
The need for nutritious food has increased by 30% in the last year and continues to grow. In the last 16 weeks or so, we have rescued and redistributed 600,000 lbs of food. Through our 6 mobile food banks and our strong community network, we stand beside our communities, ensuring no one has to face hunger alone.
